It's merely genetic, there is no biological reason whatsoever why hair anywhere is a sign of weakness. There is actually no such thing as a sign of weakness in regards to physical appearances, other than, of course, flabbiness and lack of muscles.

I guess I don't understand why a woman would want a mans skin to feel as soft as hers. I thought women wanted men to have a roughness to their hands and the whole masculine demeanor about them. I think you bring up a good point. There seems to be an emphasis on pressure for girls to be perfect and "supermodel thin". But its pretty much the same with guys. It doesnt get as much media attention as girls but its true. Guys are supposed to have rock hard abs, huge pecs and a hairless constantly oiled chest.

It doesnt really matter to me about hairy guys going shirtless. If they are comfortable with it, more power to them. I think the only other thing thats worse (not that hairy chests are bad) is if a guy shaves his chest and then theres a little bit of stubble.
