Fairy, pixie, or nymph costumes? i want something that is cheap in price but doesn't look cheap in material. any sites i could go to? (for teen, small in womens) | | I would search ebay... | Where can you buy/order really cheap leotards (for 11 teens)? For a school play, there are 11 wood nymphs, and part of the costume is the leotard. We prefer white to black, but if there are some cheap wild colored leotards, that would be great. The leotard would probably be a smaller size, for 13-14 year olds, and would be less than $10.

hope helped | What do you think of the plot of my story? What do you think of this plot for the first book of my series? Would you read something like this?
Segolene is a redhead fairy (someone who can read minds and has visions of the future) who has washed up on the shores of Utope-the legendary island of the nymphs. No one has entered this island before, and Seg's entry opens the barriers, making it accesible to anyone.
Seg goes to Puddlefoot, a school of magic, with her nymph friend Cidia (if you're worried about Puddlefoot being too similar to Hogwarts, it's not--it's more selective since there are 6 students per class and they accept all kinds of magical creatures not just fairies. Also, it's not a boarding school). While there, Cidia gets a letter from a nymph friend saying that Mala, a nymph emprisonned for murder, has escaped. On her wall were written the omnious words: "You will hear of me again".
Later, fairyland declares war on Utope at Mala's suggestion. Mala says that Utope is a threat, but she really just wants to become queen. At the end of the book, Fairyland wins the war and Mala crowns herself queen--something no one was expecting. She returns the government back to a middle-ages system, with social classes and stuff.
The book is about the war and how Seg is torn between Fairyland and Utope. Her family is also torn apart by Mala-- Seg's mom wants to join her, but her Dad thinks her aims are wrong.
there are also a lot of conflicts in school, teen drama kind of things.
so what do you think? would you read a book like this? | Personally -- would I read a book like this? No.
I'm not a big fan of.. "fairies."
I still think Puddlefoot is could be POTENTIALLY similar to Hogwarts.
I know; there's no law against creating a magical school in your book. However, watch yourself. Don't let yourself start [self-consciously] imitating Hogwarts. You're probably thinking, "what? Of course I won't." but it is possible. Try to keep it as different as you can.
I don't know. It just sounds so happy and .. is this going to be a guyrens book? Fairyland sounded rather.. guyish. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm being honest.
"..conflicts in school, teen drama kind of things."
This is becoming a very cliche subplot/topic. Maybe I'm all by myself here, but I have to put up with enough school drama as it is in my own life. I really don't like reading about "teen dramas" about other situations on top of my own problems.. with a few exceptions for some actually good books I've found int he past. I mean, teen drama is just so.. pointless. It's silly. None of it even matters. It's petty.
You're probably mad. Sorry I couldn't tell you what you wanted to hear. If you want to write it, go for it. Why do you consult Yahoo before starting your story? Just write. Who cares what strangers like me think?
edit: I agree with Ocean. I kept thinking -- "hey, that was in Harry Potter!" too. | Help me find a book I once read but can remember its title? I read this fantasy teen book in 6th grade for a book report and now I want to reread this cute, sad story. (I should probably just raid my middle school library lol) I remember the only reason why I picked it up was because the first word in the title started with a 'y' I believe it was only a one word title (something like youngling or young one or something and no not yearling I know that much)
Okay I remember parts of the story.
Basically this little wood nymph, sprit or fairy or elf gets kicked out of her magical world (in the forest) because she makes mistakes or is clumsy, forgetful or whatever but whatever it was that she did was the last straw. SO she is banished to the human world and starts life again as a baby to these random human parents (since she starts again as a baby over time she forgets who she really is and where she really comes from). Now she is an 'ugly' little girl has a wide set face with big round eyes and wide, flat hands and feet (basically what this author thinks an elf/fairy/nymph should look like). She knows she is different and is rejected by the other little guyren there is this one old lady who teaches her about healing and potions, etc.
A scene I vividly remember is when gypsies come to the town and she is all excited wanting to get her palm read and trades a valuable ball of beeswax for a palm reading but after looking at the girl’s hand the kind gypsy says she can't and gives the wax back (this is because the girl has no palm lines).
I'm almost sure if I was given a list of teen fantasy books starting with a 'Y' I would be able to pick it out.
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks! | | It reminds me a bit of The Moorguy by Eloise McGraw but the story doesn't really match. That's all I can think of, though. | Journey into the mind of a woman part 2? This is part 2 of my quest to understand if women are indeed the same as men... like feminists say:
Ladies, how would you react int he following scenarios:
1) You live in an apartment. You wake up one night to hear hauntingly beautiful music coming from a piano. It is being played in an apartment across from yours by an exceedingly beautiful young woman with the nimble fingers of a nymph. She calls to you with her softly glowing eyes through the open window, what do you do ?
2) You see an altercation between an elderly man and a ruffian high school teen over a seat on the bus. Do you intervene and try to help the elderly man ?
3) You're a hitchhiker, trying to hitch a ride, whose CAR would you prefer to enter:
a) A loud, laughing couple with matching mohawks, tatoos, vampire decorations, and smell of stale alcohol.
or
b) A soft-spoken man wearing glasses, khaki pants, with a somewhat high-pitched voice. | 1) Smile sincerely and compliment the music.
2) Yes, I would say something like, "I'm sure there's no reason for this fighting." Or, if I had a seat already, I would offer it to the elderly man to passively intervene.
3) Everyone else said, "I would never hitchhike." Duh. Hypothetically though, I'd get in with the couple. | A difficult plot or an okay plot? IM A TEENAGE GIRL (13) and Im not a GEEK! Just cause i Well, I love Doctor Who so Im thinking of writing a few books like it but i need your help!
Okay so ELLA is an orphan. her pearants died in a car crash- people in the little village still dont no what caused it but thats another story.
The orphanage is sent out to the sea where the girls pick sea shells. (I hope u got what Im telling you so far)
Three mean girls- Kimberly Jones, _________, __________ (NEED NAMES TOO!) push ELLA off a cliff where she falls into the water by Kim.
ELLA is saved by a soul of a water nymph (mermaid)- ONDINE (on-dine) but she doesnt no that.
Ondine leaves her on the street.... this is where it gets complicated....
Ella wakes up her normal self but is 13. A small 11 year old girl (who is her real self) wakens her up. Then a woman (an older woman) comes and saves ella. The woman is about 23-ish. She is Ella in her older self form.
Okay let me explain.... Ondine saved Ella.... Ondine bought Ella to the street... Ella doesnt no who the smaller girl is -nor the older woman.... ONDINE BOUGHT ELLA 34 YEARS LATER TO THE SAME STREET!!!
Ella (her teen self) and old Ella (another woman- small Ella's mum- not part of this clique yet takes small Ella) have to fight off all evil in the world and have to find out what killed reall ELLA's perants.
IS THIS TOO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND ON PAPER? :( TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK AND PLEASE GIVE ME SOME NAMES.
note- Ondine and Kim have a connection- again another story! | What's wrong with being a geek, might I ask? I consider myself one, and wouldn't want to be otherwise.
The story sounds about as complicated as any Doctor Who story where they make proper use of the fact that the "T" in TARDIS stands for "time". That is, as long as you present it skilfully enough, it should be easy for most readers to follow. I don't mean that you have to explain everything as if the reader is an idiot. Nobody will want to read it if you do that. Just put in clues so that people who are paying attention can follow what's going on.
Watch Doctor Who Confidential and pay attention to the parts where the scriptwriter is talking about how the story fits together. The last episode of the 2010 series (where the universe collapses and the TARDIS turns into a sun) is a good one, because the Doctor jumps around in time so much in that, and yet it's all perfectly comprehensible. The episode starts with him having been locked inside the Pandorica, and then two minutes later he pops out of time, carrying a mop and wearing a fez. Stephen Moffat said he put those props in so that the viewer can work out, when the Doctor disappears, what point in time he's travelling to, and when he appears, when he's come from. Later in the programme, you see him acquire the mop and the fez, so when he disappears with those, you know that he must have gone to the time when he appeared at the start of the programme. Later still, he loses the mop and the fez, so you know that if you see him appear without them, he must have come from some other time.
Girl names - Rose Tyler and Martha Jones :-p It doesn't matter what you call them, as long as the names are appropriate for whatever culture and historical period they belong to. Pick any names and get on with writing the story. If you change your mind later, this is what search and replace in your wordprocessor is for. | BOOK IN THE MAKING QUESTION!!!? hey! I'm writing a teen fiction book about a vampire, werewolf, goblin? anyways some kind of dark creature (who may not be so DARK after all ;) falling in love with a fariy, nymph, sunshine creature and the probelms that go along with that. but would you rather have the guy be the dark creature or the girl and vice versa??? if you have any other ideas about the story you can put that here too I'll credit you with the idea if this book is ever published!!! thanks for your help!! | | yeah the girl should be dark cause there are so many books with a good girl and a bad guy. | TEENS: Do you think that this woman was beautiful? Hello Teens :)
I was talking to my friend about Bob Dylan (surprise surprise) and about his now ex wife, Sara Dylan. Anyway, my friend was saying that she doesn't think Sara was very good looking. I personally don't understand how the Scorpio Sphinx in a calico dress, the glamorous nymph with an arrow and bow, the sad eyed lady of the lowlands CAN'T be beautiful.
What do you think of the woman with her "eyes like smoke, and her prayers like rhymes"?
s968.photobucket.com/albums/ae164… | | She is beautiful, and you know it. | Is it normal for a girl--woman--in her early 20s to dream about floating islands in the sky, fairies, etcetera? Is it? Or is it not? Maybe I'm just happy after getting back together with my true love?
I dreamed about fairies, nymphs, castles (both on land and in the sky), floating islands, floating ships in the sky, mermaids and mermen, centaurs, dryads, princes and princesses, knights...
Is it abnormal? I know pre-teen (and sometimes teen) girls dream about stuff like that. But a 24-year-old?
Was I just happy that me and my true love got back together? Was it something I ate? I know it's not drugs. Never took them. Ever. I know I'm clean. So what is it?
And does my dream mean anything? | | Say what? | I love her, but is an affair ok to save the marriage? My wife and I have been married for 6 years. Before we were married we were like horny teens, after its all down hill. Now at age 27 I'm lucky if we have sex twice a year. She just could care less she has 0 sex drive, a male model could stand next to her and she wouldnt care....... If your wife refuses to have sex is it ok to have an affair for sexual purposes only? My wife seems to be happier being married and not knowing what I'm doing as long as she doesnt know than separating and being alone. What would you do? We've been through everything, counseling, therapy, drugs...She's not depressed she just doesnt like sex anymore. I LOVE SEX. I'm not a nymph, but I have urges like any other 27yr old or any guy for that matter. | no... it is never o-kay to have an affair for any reason.
get some counseling for the two of you.... and find out what is wrong that she doesn't want to have sex.
get help.... and get it now. |
